About

Pocket Lap started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other download links during lunch breaks. We got tired of app store descriptions that promise the world and deliver a wall of pop-ups, so we decided to write down what we honestly felt after a few hours with each game.

Everything you read here comes from real play sessions on real phones, mostly mid-range Android devices and a couple of older iPhones. We think that matters, because a game can look great on a flagship and stutter badly on the phone most people actually own.

We pick games in two ways. Some we find ourselves while browsing the charts, others come from reader suggestions in our inbox. We lean toward racing, arcade, and pick-up-and-play titles, but we cover RPGs, strategy, and the odd oddball too when something surprises us.

Nobody here is paid to like anything. If a game bores us by level three, we say so. That is the whole point of the site.
